Pre-K——First Grade

A child is never too young to learn about the love of God and His Son Jesus. Over the last 30+ years I have observed three-year-old children who were clinging to a parent quickly change into children who were eager to come to Sunday School. We blend structured routine with fun, age-appropriate activities, Bible story curriculum, and music. Healthy snacks alternate with child favorites. We learn to share, take turns, and incorporate small muscle development by finger balancing pennies for the weekly offering. There is free play in the block corner and doll corner, when time allows. Every child leaves their mark on our classroom and in our hearts. Come visit our growth chart and the dated hand paintings on our classroom walls. We hope you will choose to start your child’s Christian walk in our Sunday School class.
Second Grade——Fifth Grade
The Elementary Sunday School Class welcomes boys and girls in second through fifth grades. The class is co-led by Priscilla Long and Kathy Lane using the David C. Cook Bible-in-Life Curriculum. Class time includes time for active learning, games, crafts, reading from the Bible, memory work, applying the Bible to the everyday life of elementary kids, and learning how God is always with us. Both Priscilla Long and Kathy Lane have many years of teaching experience and consider sharing Jesus with kids a great privilege! Priscilla Long is a partially-retired physician working in weight loss medicine. Kathy Lane is a retired teacher.
Coffee Club
The Coffee Club, so named because it used to meet at Java Jive before COVID-19, is a Sunday school class for 20s, 30s, 40s and the young at heart. We meet in the small dining room downstairs, and we use The Wired Word as our curriculum, an online weekly lesson based on contemporary events. It’s a fun group, and we would love to have anyone join us for our faith discussions. Facilitators are Dirk and Karen Sauer and Amy Lakenburger.
