Not only at a time when I was hospitalized or during the loss of a loved one, but all through the years. This church has been a great source of strength to me. In helping others we are doing what the Lord would have us do. May we progress and grow through the years."

"     1st Presbyterian Church has been very meaningful in our lives because we have been life long members. We attended Sunday School and Youth Group before reaching adult status in the congregation.
       Sarah Jane and I began our walk through life together as the result of attending youth meetings and we later married in this church, sixty years ago. All four of our children were married in this church and their children baptized here.
      So many members have touched our lives with their love, their warmth and their caring. Words cannot describe our thanks to all of you. Our church is the people. It is comforting to know that we are a part of a congregation that has stood the test of time.
      There were many meaningful events throughout the years but one that stands out happened during a campaign to raise money for some renovations on the church. Sarah Janes mother, Virginia Simmons, spoke from the pulpit in support of the project. She simply said, "Why do I support these efforts? I support them because I love this church.""
